Ag Valley Cooperative is a full-service agriculturally diversified company with numerous locations conveniently located across south central Nebraska and northwestern Kansas. The Cooperative was organized and incorporated in 1953 primarily as a grain elevator by a group of Edison, NE farmers, then known as Edison Non-Stock Cooperative. The Coop has since purchased or merged with several other companies the past 60 years before finally becoming Ag Valley Cooperative Non-Stock in the mid-1990’s after it was decided that a name change was needed to reflect its greater service and trade area.
Today Ag Valley Cooperative is made up of five primary business sectors: Agronomy, Grain, Feed, Petroleum and Water Resources. The Agronomy division and its accomplished staff provide a full complement of products and services that bring value to customers. Through use of the R7 Tool, variable-rate technology and tissue sampling, to name just a few, our team of specialists can help you get the most out of every acre on your farm. Whether it’s seed, fertilizers (dry or liquid), herbicides or pesticides, we have you covered. The Grain division buys and sells farm commodities produced by area farmers, also providing transportation services to or from the farm and direct to market; and an experienced in-house grain merchandising staff offer a vast array of contract and delivery options to cover most every situation. Our Feed division personnel sell and/or deliver pre-mix, concentrate and custom-mix and blend feeds and our experienced nutritionists can provide recommendations on animal health and nutrition to all sizes of livestock operations. With warehouses and feed mills spread out across the trade area, products and services are convenient for all our customers. The Petroleum division provides gasoline, ethanol, diesel, propane, oils, hydraulic fluids, grease and various farm supplies to area farmers, ranchers and community residents. Bulk purchases and delivery provide convenience and cost advantage to our customers, while 24-hour cardtrol fuel services, service stations and retail convenience stores exist in a number of the communities we reside. Finally, our Water Resource division stands ready to provide sales and installation of sub-surface drip irrigation systems and related products. Water is a precious resource. Let Ag Valley bring the utmost efficiency to every drop of water used to grow crops on your farm.
By definition, a Cooperative is an association or corporation established for the purpose of providing goods and services at a competitive price to its shareholders or members who own and control it. Any profits then generated by the Cooperative are shared with those member-owners in the form of a patronage refund. The Board of Directors may also elect to direct a portion of this income into retained savings, which is often used to make larger capital investments for the company. Board of Directors are elected among voting membership to provide direction and oversight, which always guarantees that the member-owners are the ones that have control over the direction of their Cooperative.
Ag Valley is a proud Cooperative, employing over 300 men and women at 22 locations with annual sales exceeding $500 million.
